WNBR This station goes back to 1928. By 1933 the "all-white" WNBR-Radio had begun broadcasting the weekly Amateur Night show from the Palace Theater on Beale Street, where widely different musicians performed blues, pop songs, jazz, and rhythm-n-blues numbers.
